Trek's Hardtail Masterpiece: The Procaliber

The Procaliber is a Cross Country mountain biker's dream come true. Here's a few photos of the latest Procaliber to hit our sales floor. Come on in and give it a test ride and see for yourself what the excitement is all about.

This “hardtail” brings the IsoSpeed technology to its seatmast, providing the XC rider with a great deal of flex for a more forgiving and comfortable ride on rough trails conditions. Invisible cable routing makes for a clean and quiet ride, while MicroTruss external housing guides keep the entry points neat. Post mount brakes also make their way onto this frame, eliminating unnecessary weight from the typical chainstay brake brace.

Perhaps one of the biggest changes, however, comes with Boost 148/110: wider dropouts in both the rear and front hubs (148 & 110, respectively) means riders get all the stiffness of a 27.5” wheel with the benefits of a 29” wheel. With wider rear dropouts, riders are also able to sport a wider tire and a bigger chainring, without affecting the efficiency of pedaling or changing the q-factor (the distance between the pedal attachment points on the crank arms).
