Be Ready for your Big Ride

April and May are full of charity rides, races, and triathlons. Stop by and make sure you have all you need for a fun and successful event, from gear to nutrition to good advice.

Be Prepared in Mind, Body, and Equipment

To have the best ride, you should be prepared in mind, body, and equipment. Here are some things to think about.

  • Stop by the shop to make sure your bike is rolling, shifting, and stopping successfully. We can quickly check, clean, lube, and adjust it.
  • Pack tubes and a flat kit with a pump or CO2. Don't bank on ride support.
  • Bring your own nutrition. Again, rest stops are usually well-stocked, but it's smart to carry your favorite gel and/or electrolyte drink.
  • Make sure your cleat bolts are all there and tightened.
  • If you are new to the sport, come in and see our Bike Packages. Get all you need—and nothing you don't—for fun on your bike. The right bike and accessories in one stop.
  • Pack a multi-tool, to be safe. We have lots to choose from.
  • Be trained for the distance. Sounds obvious, but fight the temptation to take the 100 mile turnoff if you been training for the 60 mile ride. It happens.
  • Hydrate! Drink early and often. About a bottle an hour. Work in some Electrolytes, too, especially in the heat of the summer.
  • Have fun!
